Two Things Tuesdays is a quick and simple way to give a teaser of insight to the book I’m currently reading. These could be quotes or thoughts and reactions.
- “I have realised that part if being Dauntless is being willing to make things more difficult for yourself in order to be self-sufficient. … we’re not supposed to need help. We are supposed to be capable of anything. I like that.”
- “The goal in my life isn’t just…to be happy.”
I’m only at Chapter 13 of Divergent, and I still don’t know how to feel about Tris. I keep remembering that she chose this life (As opposed to Katniss who was thrown into The Hunger Games and forced to fight.) Am I supposed to believe that the goal in Tris’s life is to be miserable? Is she just saying that to be defensive and put on the tough girl act? Am I supposed to sympathize with Tris? If she were Abnegation (selfless) then why would she want to have the toughest life possible with a bunch of weapon-loving jerks?
I may feel more emotionally involved in the book once I finish it. I’ll do my review as soon as possible.
