Kindle Sundays for 26 Jan 2014

I’m making up a new category for the blog because I tend to have lots and lots of random book samples on my Kindle. Since it’s Sunday, and lately I’ve been in a bit of a reading rut, I thought I should mention what ebook I’ve downloaded recently.

(Plus, if I have a category for every day of the week, I can appropriately post whenever the whim strikes me.)

With my disenchantment with every book I have on my To Read list, I decided to read something I wouldn’t generally read, hence Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding.

I have this checked out from the library on my Kindle and I’m liking it so far. I’ve seen the movie a bunch of times, and I know the other books/movies aren’t as great, but this one is cute. Makes me want to write in a diary even more!

The key to this book is the voice, which is distinct and gives such life to the story. It’s cute, fun, and Bridget is far from perfect, but we love her just the way she is.

Now, how soon it will be until I have another Kindle Sundays post, I don’t know. I haven’t finished anything since The One and Only Ivan that is short and I finished in a day. Actually, I haven’t finished any other books since before Christmas, so yeah, the holidays have scrambled my brains a little. Hope I can get back into my reading habit soon, even if it means stepping out of my comfort zone and finding other genres to get interested in.

Happy Reading and Happy Sunday!
